Job description

Client Manager

Phillips Power is seeking a Client Manager to foster strong relationships with our clients, understand their needs, and ensure satisfaction for both parties. This role requires serving as the primary point of contact for clients, collaborating with internal teams to drive solutions that exceed client expectations, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain lasting connections with procurement, engineering, and project management contacts at utilities, co-ops, and T-Line prime contractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client accounts; keep communication consistent and follow through on commitments
  • Stay current on client capital programs and project pipelines — know what they're planning before it's public
  • Identify and qualify opportunities in transmission, distribution, and civil power scopes — access roads, ROW clearing, foundations, and matting
  • Maintain a live pursuit pipeline and provide regular updates to BD leadership on opportunities, competitive intel, and market conditions
  • Position Phillips Power early in the pursuit cycle, before scopes are finalized and bids are released
  • Coordinate with estimating and operations to make sure proposals are competitive and reflect actual delivery capability
  • Represent Phillips Power at industry events, trade association meetings, and utility forums relevant to the region
  • Register and maintain Phillips Power's standing in utility supplier portals and prequalification systems
  • Track competitive dynamics and utility spending trends; flag shifts in the market that affect pursuit strategy

Requirements

  • Experience working with regulated utilities, electric cooperatives, or T-line prime contractors is a strong plus
  • Strong ability to build rapport with clients at all levels.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with various internal teams.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a client management role, with a proven track record of maintaining and growing client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service.
