Description of Position: Serves as Contracting Officer for high priority classified programs. Responsible for all contracting activities of the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (Space RCO). Advises the director on all acquisition/business related matters and interfaces directly with ASAF(A) and SAF/GCQ for all regulatory contracting actions. Develops acquisition strategy and executes all phases of the contracting process in an environment of managed risks. Ensures multiple government services and agency requirements are satisfied. Special emphasis is placed on a streamlined program execution that accelerates delivery of operational capabilities to the field. Position Responsibilities: โ€ข Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing contracting and other business management activities in a risk-tolerant environment  โ€ข Serves as contracting authority for Space RCO acquisition programs and is directly responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to Senior Leadership and Director, Space RCO โ€ข Establishes and maintains an integrated team relationship dealing directly with the most senior levels of government and industry โ€ข Manages and executes contracts, as a warrant contracting officer, that include a variety of contracting approaches and relationships associated with pre-award planning, establishment of suitable contractual and/or alternative business arrangements, and post-award management to include evaluation of cost, schedule, and performance related to Space RCO acquisition programs โ€ข Prepares and conducts comprehensive contracting reports, studies, briefings, and related presentations Desired Skills/Expertise: โ€ข Unlimited Warrant or the ability to obtain and maintain an unlimited warrant is required; SpRCO will assist with obtaining the unlimited warrant if needed. โ€ข DAWIA Contract Certification or waiver with ability to achieve in 24 months โ€ข Previous Experience in Systems Contracting or work with ACAT I/II/III equivalent Acquisition Procurements highly desired โ€ข Strong oral and written skills, past briefing skills to senior leadership desired   โ€ข Occasional travel expected Qualification Requirements: โ€ข Positive Education required, transcripts must be provided Conditions of Employment: โ€ข Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance โ€ข Position requires current or pre-employment drug testing โ€ข Occasional travel away from regular duty location may be required. โ€ข May be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. โ€ข Employees may be subject to an initial or subsequent polygraph as a condition of employment โ€ข **Value of Position (VOP): If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position.
