Job description

A Strategic Account Executive position based in Seattle, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This position will contribute to the development of Category Management infrastructure for SMWE with the objective of becoming the industry leader in providing category management driven solutions to meet the needs of our retail partners. With a strong foundation in analytics and insights, this individual will translate data into meaningful and actionable insights that drive brand and category growth for SMWE and our partners.

Strategic Account Executive job responsibilities include:

  • Represent Ste. Michelle Wine Estates to assigned accounts and serve as a trusted partner.
  • Execute company sales plans to achieve depletion and PODS goals.
  • Communicate and sell brand objectives, marketing programs, and initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and implement in-store programs.
  • Track program performance, planning, and distribution.
  • Build strong relationships to become the preferred supplier and category resource.
  • Maintain knowledge of SMWE brands, competitors, and category trends.
  • Prepare forecasts for budgets and brand depletions as needed.
  • Provide updates to executive leadership on presentations, calendars, and program results.
  • Report call outcomes and ensure alignment with VP, Sr. Director, State Manager, and RVP.
  • Manage assigned budgets and oversee national retail pricing within brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with distributor account executives to align sales goals and distribution.
  • Attend trade and customer events; engage with industry organizations to strengthen relationships.
  • Manage account pricing changes: develop plans, communicate, negotiate, and inform stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry, with experience supporting national or regional chain retailers strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience utilizing syndicated and category management data tools, including IRI/Circana, Nielsen, and related analytics platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the retail landscape, including grocery, warehouse club, drug, and mass merchandise channels, with expertise in merchandising, category management, retail operations, and financial performance metrics.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel extensively (approximately 30-35%) to support customer meetings, market visits, and business initiatives.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for customer events, industry functions, and business-related activities.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation: 

$106,887.00 - $138,963.00 per year based upon relevant experience.
