Job description

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our Stormwater Group in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs.
  • Provide engineering assistance for the design of best management practices (BMPs), low impact development (LID) solutions, natural stream restoration, and other stormwater related projects.
  • Understanding of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control.
  • Provide technical expertise and check accuracy of all completed work. Assure that a QA/QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project.
  • Prepare project specifications to include materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.
  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed
  • Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • B.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent with work experience. EIT preferred.
  • 3 to 6+ years' experience in environmental/civil engineering including experience in stream and wetland restoration design.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred).

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
