Water Damage Restoration Technician
We can teach you the rest if you come to work daily with a great attitude, a willingness to learn, a passion to serve, and a desire to be great at what you do. We seek a motivated and reliable individual to join our growing team.
A Water Damage Restoration Technician performs various tasks, from assisting with production processes to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
About Us:
Certified Restoration Mission is San Diego's leading disaster restoration company with 30+ years of experience serving residential and commercial clients. We are IICRC Certified and specialize in water damage restoration, fire damage repair, mold remediation, and 24/7 emergency restoration services.
We're growing — and we're looking for a seasoned Lead Technician who's ready to step up, take ownership of job sites, and lead a crew with confidence. If you've got at least a year in water damage restoration and you bring a great attitude every day, we can build the rest together.
Position Summary:
As a Water Damage Restoration Lead Technician, you'll be the on-site authority — directing restoration crews, managing project documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact for customers during their most stressful moments. You'll work independently and be trusted to make decisions that keep projects moving on time and on standard.
This is a key role for someone ready to grow from technician to project leader in the restoration industry.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to emergency mitigation situations: water, fire, flood, mold, and more
  • Perform water extraction, structural drying, board-up, and full restoration tasks
  • Demolish and remove drywall, carpet, insulation, and other damaged materials
  • Prepare properties for mold remediation clearance testing
  • Coordinate with testing companies, abatement contractors, and pack-out vendors
  • Serve as the primary on-site customer contact — calm, professional, solution-focused
  • Complete daily scope sheets, upload job photos, and maintain thorough project documentation
  • Oversee and direct a team of restoration technicians
  • Ensure company vehicles are properly maintained and organized

What We're Looking For

Required
  • Minimum 1 year of water damage restoration experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and on-site demeanor
  • Ability to work in fire, smoke, and water-damaged environments
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred
  • Experience in both water and mold remediation
  • WRT and/or IICRC certifications (strongly valued)
  • Prior lead technician or crew supervisor experience
  • Familiarity with documentation platforms and scope sheet processes

You're a Great Fit If You're
  • A calm, analytical problem-solver under pressure
  • Proud of your work and accountable to your crew
  • A natural communicator who earns customer trust on-site
  • Driven to grow into project management over time

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation (based on experience)
  • Health care benefits
  • 401(k) with matching contribution
  • 10 days PTO per year
  • Opportunity for advancement into Project Management
  • Supportive, team-first work environment
  • IICRC certification support & professional development
Why Certified Restoration Mission?
  • 30+ years as San Diego's most trusted restoration company
  • IICRC Certified — industry-leading training and standards
  • Clear growth path: Lead Technician → Project Manager
  • Meaningful work — you help families and businesses recover when it matters most
  • Stable, full-time employment with a crew that has your back
