Job description

Position:   Contract Coordinator II 

Location:  Miller Street, Valdosta, GA 31601 (Hybrid / Field-Based)
Duration:  5 Months

Job Summary

Georgia Power is seeking an experienced Contract Coordinator II to manage contractor activities supporting electric distribution construction, maintenance, and storm restoration projects. This role is responsible for coordinating contract crews, ensuring safe and efficient project execution, monitoring contractor performance, and supporting project scheduling, quality, and budget objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive distribution construction experience and strong contract management, communication, and leadership skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Coordinate and manage contract crews supporting overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, and storm restoration.

·       Schedule and plan contractor work to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives.

·       Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate project execution with engineering, operations, contractors, and customers.

·       Monitor contractor performance, contract compliance, budgets, schedules, and project quality.

·       Review and manage contract documents, amendments, and project closeout activities.

·       Maintain project documentation, inventory, and contract records.

·       Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations on contract-related matters.

·       Analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction packages.

·       Resolve contractor issues, mitigate project risks, and support dispute resolution.

·       Support emergency response and participate in storm restoration activities as required.

·       Mentor junior contract coordinators and promote continuous improvement.

 

Required Qualifications

·       7+ years of electric distribution engineering and/or construction experience.

·       Extensive knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.

·       Experience managing contract crews and construction contractors.

·       Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project planning, and quality control.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

·       Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

·       Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills.

·       Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience with Distribution Viewer, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, and JETS.

·       Utility industry experience supporting electric distribution operations.

·       Experience managing multiple projects across a large service territory.

·       Knowledge of utility contract administration, procurement, and construction standards.
