Job Description
This is not an official job description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. You could expect the position of floral clerk to include the following:
DUTIES:
• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Receive and process merchandise
• Display plants and flowers, using proper signs
• Water, and attend to flowers and plants
• Be knowledgeable on names, and proper care of flowers and plants
• Make bows, corsages, and boutonnieres
• Arrange fresh flowers
• Package and wrap fresh flowers
• Pull dated product
• Follow company safety and sanitation procedures by cleaning shelves, floor and work areas
• Proper use of helium tanks to inflate balloons
• Provide customer service on phones
• Take orders, and prepare for pickup and delivery
• Know proper procedure for ordering F.T.D.
• Operate a cash terminal, knowing proper procedure to receive cash, checks and credit cards
• Unload bedding plants, place on racks outside store (seasonal)
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management
TRAINING
Training will be provided at store level.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates:
  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
