Store Room Associate, Thomaston, Georgia

As a Store Room Associate in Thomaston, Georgia, you'll play an important role in supporting mill operations by maintaining inventory accuracy, receiving and issuing materials, and ensuring the storeroom operates safely and efficiently. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The pay rate for this position is up to $22.63 per hour.
What You'll Do
  • Adhere to all safety and HR policies and standards.
  • Ensure efficient operation and organization of the storeroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, parts, and inventory.
  • Perform cycle counts, weekly consumable counts, and monthly physical inventories.
  • Accurately receive, inspect, count, and label incoming materials and verify against purchase orders using CMMS.
  • Stock materials appropriately and ensure documentation is forwarded to Accounts Payable.
  • Issue parts to personnel using requisitions and collaborate with the Maintenance Planner for work orders or discrepancies.
  • Prepare documentation for parts sent for repair and issue repair requisitions.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of key inventory items (e.g., belts, bolts, chains, bearings) and submit requisitions for restocking.
  • Assist with kitting materials (pulling and staging parts on designated pallets).
  • Investigate and resolve invoicing issues in coordination with Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support mill operations.

What You'll Bring
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EAM preferred).
  • CMMS experience is a plus.
  • Forklift certification required (can be obtained onsite).
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, or call-ins as needed.
  • Ability to work safely around loud equipment and heavy machinery while wearing all required PPE.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Previous storeroom, warehouse, or maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins as needed.
  • Ability to safely perform work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
