Job description

Our specialty grocery store is looking for a dedicated and hard working employee enthusiastic about Alaskan agriculture and locally made products, as well as a mind for community and customer service. We are a working farm whose vegetable stand turned into a year-round country grocery store over the years, focusing on local and high quality groceries. We provide "good ol days" customer service such as carrying groceries out to cars, answering the telephone and taking orders, helping people shop, and really knowing our shoppers as well as our products. The job is bigger than just a job and we are all passionate about what we do and provide for the community.


This job entails operating a cash register, interacting with customers, stocking, cleaning, and sometimes prepping veggies and making rhubarb lemonade. We have a joke when applicants ask what the job description is: "Anything that needs to be done!". Experience in retail is preferred but not necessary. We need someone with flexible hours, including being willing to work some weekends. Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, have reliable transportation, willing to attain a food handlers card, and get along well with others. We look forward to adding the right person to our farm "family."
