To thrive as a Storage Admin, you need expertise in storage systems management, data backup and recovery, and a solid understanding of operating systems, often supported by a degree in IT or a related field. Familiarity with tools like SAN/NAS storage arrays, backup solutions, virtualization platforms, and certifications such as CompTIA Storage+ or vendor-specific credentials are highly valued. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help Storage Admins excel in troubleshooting and collaborating with IT teams.
