Job description

Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico.

Position: Marine/Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)

Reports To: Facility Manager

Worksite: Gretna, Louisiana.

Work Schedule: 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday; on-call every other week for afterhours and weekend duty.

  • Electrical work, general maintenance work (pumps, meters, motors, etc.), general carpentry work, and repair work for marine vessels and barges as well as shore-based facilities.
  • Diagnose, trouble shoot, and fix problem independently
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduits.
  • Thread wire or cable through ducts or conduits.
  • Measure materials and objects for installation and assembly.
  • Trace out short circuits and wiring.
  • Strip insulation from wire ends.
  • Install electrical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Inspect and repair electrical systems.
  • Construct controllers and panels.
  • Fabricate parts and components.
  • Dissemble and reassemble equipment and systems.
  • Dig trenches and drill holes.
  • Solder, including silver soldering and cad welding.
  • Operate and use a variety and tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Clean, track, and maintain various kinds of equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and facilities.
  • Complete and submit paperwork, including requisitions, daily reports, and the like, in a timely manner.
  • Update job logs via preventative maintenance program on an ongoing basis.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Use a computer (basic computer skills).
  • Exercise and use electrical knowledge.
  • Other duties that may be requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed

  • Acceptable Driving Record.
