We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in child and adolescent therapy to join our team at Black Stone Diagnostic and Counseling Center in Mamaroneck, New York. This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting combined with the resources of an outpatient facility. You will find a supportive atmosphere conducive to professional growth while being part of a multidisciplinary team. Regular communication through virtual meetings will ensure your involvement in collaborative care planning and treatment coordination. The position requires availability Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents, ensuring that evaluations are comprehensive and insightful.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique psychological and emotional needs, incorporating considerations of their developmental stages and family structure.
• Utilize effective, evidence-based therapeutic techniques, ensuring that interventions are suited for the diverse mental health concerns presented by younger patients.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions that empower parents and caregivers, enabling them to foster supportive environments conducive to their child’s mental health.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless, coordinated care that meets the comprehensive needs of our young clients.
• Provide immediate support and crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in distress.
• Educate families about mental health issues, treatment modalities, and community resources available to support their child’s journey.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation as per legal and ethical requirements, including detailed progress notes and treatment plans.
• Engage in regular participation in team meetings and case consultations, sharing insights and strategies that enhance therapeutic approaches.
• Stay current with the latest research and advances in child and adolescent mental health to continuously improve care quality.

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and various behavioral disorders. Collaborating with the family unit plays a crucial role in your practice, as the involvement of supportive caregivers is vital for effective therapeutic outcomes.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the State of New York.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally within child and adolescent mental health.
• Strong understanding and expertise in child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with a command of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy to younger clients, with a focus on a compassionate and child-centered approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with children and their families.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software tools is essential for accurate documentation.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

• Experience working in outpatient mental health settings, particularly those addressing the unique needs of children and adolescents.
• Knowledge of community resources and support systems beneficial to children and families navigating mental health challenges.
• Prior involvement in educational and outreach initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness and available services.

The salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
