Job description

Safely operate, monitor, and perform maintenance on Landfill Gas Collection and Gas Treatment equipment to ensure its ability to operate safely & efficiently.


Pay: $28-32/hour

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose operational difficulties and notify Gas Plant Supervisor and/or vendor. May be required to make repairs to the Gas Collection System and Gas Treatment Equipment
a. Monitoring the collection field for proper concentration levels
b. Complete necessary repairs to the collection system
c. PM and repair gas conditioning equipment (if needed)
Assist Gas Plant Supervisor and/or vendors with trouble shooting and operation of the Power Generation Equipment (if needed)
a. Operational knowledge of Generator Switchgear
Complete reports, environmental agency records, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required.

b. Start-up, Shut down & Maintenance logs
c. Daily Plant Operational condition logs
d. Calibrate and log monitoring equipment (if needed)
Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedule.
Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.
Must be available for On-Call response to system emergencies
Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
Maintain a working knowledge of and keep up with the latest technology through the use of technical manuals and the attendance of technical training seminars and testing.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Knowledge, experience and ability to repair and maintain tools, equipment and machinery required
Previous experience in related mechanical, electrical or industrial field strongly desired
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.
Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.
Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job.
Will be required to be on call nights and weekends.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.
Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention required.
Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Frequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment required.
Frequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.
Work environment is usually loud.
Will be required to be on call nights and weekends.
