About the Role:
Lead the Meat Department by managing daily operations, overseeing staff, maintaining inventory and quality standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations while meeting margin and labor goals through effective planning, preparation, and leadership.
Essential Functions:
  • Establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee inventory levels, pricing, and signage to meet margin and labor targets.
  • Ensure team compliance with health, sanitation, Weights and Measures, and safety procedures.
  • Manage special order systems and customer requests.
  • Cut, trim, and prepare meat products using saws, grinders, tenderizers, and knives.
  • Operate and sanitize all meat processing equipment properly.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate department team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of product availability, storage, preparation, and nutritional value

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a meat department or similar setting.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in meat cutting and product knowledge.
  • Ability to safely operate meat processing equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented.
  • Capable of training and inspiring team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Understanding and appreciation of natural and organic foods.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
  • Seating: Up to 1 hours per day.
  • Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
