Job description

Summary
The Activities Attendant assists with recreational programs and services throughout the Club, including the Casting Pond, Tammany Event Lawn, Mountain Cabin, tennis courts, Fitness Centre and Spa, laundry services, and other activity areas, supporting operations that enhance the experience of members and their guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures all recreational equipment is in good condition and ready for use by members and guests; manages the check-in and check-out process for equipment usage.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all rental procedures, usage guidelines, and Club policies related to recreational equipment.
  • Secures paddle boats to designated docking locations and assists with moving kayaks and other watercraft to and from the beach area as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of assigned activity areas, including picking up trash and lost items, cleaning docks, walkways, and floors as needed, and ensuring garbage receptacles are emptied regularly.
  • Properly stores recreational equipment in designated locations (e.g., paddleboards in racks, paddles in storage areas, life preservers in designated locations, and other equipment in assigned storage areas).
  • Collects lost and found items and delivers them to the Clubhouse Concierge Desk.
  • Ensures lawn and activity areas are cleared of equipment and debris at the end of each day to allow for irrigation and turf maintenance.
  • Assists with the setup and breakdown of youth camp areas, pool areas, and event spaces, ensuring recreational equipment is properly arranged and ready for member and guest use.
  • Maintains accurate records related to equipment usage, rentals, and activity participation, and submits documentation to supervisors as directed.
  • Assists with scheduling activities, reservations, or appointments as appropriate for the assigned recreation area.
  • Ensures marketing notices, schedules, and informational materials are current and properly displayed in designated activity areas.
  • Monitors inventory and ensures adequate supplies are available for members and guests (e.g., towels, locker room supplies, recreational equipment); notifies supervisors when additional supplies are needed.
  • Assists with laundry operations as directed, including transporting soiled towels and linens, operating laundry equipment, folding and packaging laundered items, and delivering clean items to designated locations throughout the Club.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of laundry areas and equipment when performing laundry duties; restocks laundry supplies and notifies supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Reports maintenance issues or needed repairs to supervisors so appropriate maintenance requests can be submitted.
  • Reports misuse of equipment, injuries, accidents, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate records for activity reservations and equipment usage to support proper billing when applicable.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate commercial laundry washer/dryer.
  • Ability to safely operate utility cart on Club property.
  • Ability to enter water (e.g., pool and pond) when needed.
  • Ability to use paddleboats and SUP equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and to work independently.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in highly fluid and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audience.
  • Ability to work with a team and interact with others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Stock Farm Club and member and guest information.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and image of the Stock Farm Club.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of gym or fitness center operations desired.
  • Preferred: Foundational skills in the use of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
  • Preferred: Prior successful employment with the Stock Farm Club or at a private club.
  • Preferred: Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR/Defibrillator certification (training provided by Club).

Additional Requirements & Documentation

  • Must be able to pass employment background checks.
  • Must be able to work overtime and holidays as required; must be able to work additional weekday and early morning or evening hours as required.
  • Must be able to work variable schedule to include last-minute scheduling needs/changes and working split shifts.
  • Must be insurable by Club’s auto insurance provider and possess a valid driver’s license, as appropriate to the position.

Environmental & Physical Conditions
General physical activities. Work involves long periods of walking, standing, use of arms and legs, and movement of entire body. Work includes climbing; lifting; balancing; walking; stooping; pulling and pushing; kneeling and bending; and safely lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds. Work involves walking on uneven and slippery surfaces.
