PositionSummary

TheManufacturingQualitySpecialistwillmaintainastrongpresenceontheproductionfloorandsupportdailyqualityassuranceandquality-controlactivities.Thispositionwillconductinspectionsandproducttesting,investigatedefectsandcustomerconcerns,preparequalityreports,andassistwithcorrectiveactionsandcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeobservant,analytical,organized,andcomfortablecommunicatingwithproductionemployees,supervisors,management,andotherdepartments.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Maintainaconsistentpresenceonthemanufacturingfloortomonitorproductandprocessquality.
  • Conductroutineinspections,measurements,andtestingofrawmaterials,work-in-process,andfinishedproducts.
  • Identify,document,andinvestigateproductdefects,processdeviations,andotherqualityconcerns.
  • Prepareclearandaccuratequalityreports,inspectionrecords,testingresults,andsupportingdocumentation.
  • Analyzequalitydatatoidentifyrecurringdefects,trends,andimprovementopportunities.
  • Leadorsupportroot-causeinvestigationsusingstructuredproblem-solvingmethodssuchas5Whysandfishboneanalysis.
  • Develop,document,andfollowuponcorrectiveandpreventiveactions.
  • SupportGageRepeatabilityandReproducibility(GageR&R)studiesandmeasurement-systemevaluations.
  • Verifytheproperuse,calibration,andconditionofgaugesandotherinspectionequipment.
  • Assistwithnonconformingmaterialidentification,documentation,containment,anddisposition.
  • Partnerwithproductionemployeesandsupervisorstoaddressqualityconcernsandreducedefects.
  • Supportcustomer-complaintinvestigationsandhelppreparetimely,fact-basedresponses.
  • Assistwithinternalaudits,processreviews,andquality-systemdocumentation.
  • Helpmaintainworkinstructions,inspectionprocedures,qualitystandards,andcontroldocuments.
  • Participateincontinuousimprovementprojectsdesignedtoimproveproductqualityandmanufacturingperformance.
  • Promotecompliancewithcompanysafetyrequirementsandqualitystandards.

Qualifications

  • Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.
  • Associatedegreeortechnicaltraininginquality,manufacturing,engineering,orarelateddisciplinepreferred.
  • Atleastthreeyearsofqualityexperienceinamanufacturingenvironmentpreferred.
  • Practicalknowledgeofmanufacturinginspections,producttesting,anddefectinvestigation.
  • Experiencepreparingqualityreportsandmaintainingaccuratedocumentation.
  • Familiaritywithroot-causeanalysis,correctiveactions,andcontinuousimprovementmethods.
  • ExperiencewithGageR&R,measurement-systemanalysis,orstatisticalprocesscontrolisstronglypreferred.
  • FamiliaritywithISO9001oranISO9000quality-managementenvironmentisdesiredbutnotrequired.
  • Abilitytoreadproductspecifications,drawings,measurements,andworkinstructions.
  • Experienceusingmeasurementandinspectiontoolssuchascalipers,micrometers,gauges,orsimilarequipment.
  • ProficiencywithMicrosoftExcel,Word,andotherreportingtools.
  • Stronganalytical,organizational,communication,andproblem-solvingskills.
  • Abilitytoworkindependentlywhilecollaboratingeffectivelywithproductionandleadershipteams.
  • Mustbecomfortablespendingmostoftheworkdayinanactivemanufacturingenvironment.
