Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $48,332.54 - Commensurate with qualifications

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon external funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: Standard schedule with occasional weekend and evenings

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities and duties of the STEM Outreach Specialist, Senior include planning, developing, and implementing STEM-related after-school programs for multiple schools in southern New Mexico and across the state, including family workshops and STEM learning events for students and families. The position provides oversight and support for up to ten schools implementing after-school programs and develops STEM-based curriculum materials and instructional resource kits for after-school programming. Responsibilities also include designing and facilitating STEM professional development and curriculum workshops for K-12 teachers, as well as designing and delivering STEM summer camps for elementary and middle school students.
Additional duties include special projects, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to program effectiveness, and cultivating partnerships with school district administrators to address the specific learning needs of partner schools. The STEM Outreach Specialist, Senior is also responsible for supporting writing grant proposals and reports for continued program funding.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Bachelors Degree in Education or related field and three years experience in an K-12 education setting.

Special Certification/Licensure: 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
