Structural Steel Project Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection - Base Salary to 80k/year - Irving, TX

  • Our client is a growing structural steel fabrication and erection contractor seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee structural steel projects from preconstruction through installation. Projects include structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and rail systems with values ranging from approximately $500,000 to $2 million. This role requires experience managing structural steel erection projects, interpreting construction drawings, coordinating fabrication and field operations, and driving projects to successful completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret architectural, structural, fabrication, erection, and shop drawings
  • Review construction documents and verify drawing accuracy
  • Generate, track, and manage RFIs and RFPs throughout the project lifecycle
  • Trace shop drawings back to architectural release drawings to ensure accuracy and coordination
  • Review and understand shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection plans
  • Coordinate structural steel fabrication, delivery, and field erection activities
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules
  • Monitor fabrication progress, steel deliveries, and installation milestones
  • Coordinate with fabrication shop personnel, field superintendents, erectors, subcontractors, and customers
  • Manage structural steel erection projects from planning through project closeout
  • Utilize Procore or Microsoft Project for scheduling, drawing management, document control, and RFI tracking
  • Track project costs, schedules, and progress to deliver projects on time and under budget

Qualifications:

  • Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager experience within structural steel erection
  • Proven project management experience in structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Experience reading architectural, structural, fabrication, shop, and erection drawings
  • Experience managing RFIs, RFPs, submittals, and drawing revisions
  • Experience coordinating structural steel fabrication, delivery, and field installation
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules
  • Proficiency with Procore or Microsoft Project
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent structural steel projects

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 70k - 80k/year range
  • Production incentive bonuses 40k – 50k/year; total compensation up to 130k/year
