Job description

Manual Lathe/Mill Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a position for Manual Lathe/Mill Operator for a company based in Fort Worth, Tx. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for inspecting dimensions and surface condition of formed steel components.

Pay Rate
$20.00 to $25.00 per hour or DOE

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Manual Lathe/Mill Operator Duties and Responsibilities
• Setting up and operating manual lathes and milling machines to shape materials like metal, plastic, or wood.
• Mount and load materials into the machines, selecting and installing the correct cutting tools.
• Adjusting machine controls, speeds, and feeds to maintain specified dimensions.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to understand project requirements.
• Measure and inspect finished components using precision tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet specifications.

Manual Lathe/Mill Operator Qualifications and Requirements
• Must have the ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Must have attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments as needed.
• Must have basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions and speeds.
• Must have skills in using tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges for quality control.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods and lift materials.
