Job Description
Supports and contributes to the execution of the Quality department's vision and strategies by coordinating and facilitating quality improvement projects. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe and efficient patient care and services and promotes a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
  • 3 years of related experience or Master's degree; and 1 year of experience in
  • Engineering, Quality or Patient Safety
  • Experience participating in cross-functional teams
  • Experience defining, collecting and analyzing data
  • Experience applying problem solving approaches to identify and design solutions or interventions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Healthcare, Business, or related field

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field

Certification Summary
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Model for Improvement training within 1 year of employment

  • Supports the delivery of basic, intermediate, and advanced quality and patient safety training modules to leaders, staff, and physicians.
  • Develops supporting educational materials that enhance the learning objectives related to process improvement and patient safety.
  • Supports team in the facilitation and execution of system quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborates with appropriate physicians, leaders, and staff to obtain, document, and validate information related to assigned projects.
  • Coordinates patient safety initiatives including involvement in national collaboratives.
  • Coordinates and completes assigned projects.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external resources.
  • Evaluates and implements new initiatives that assist in the achievement of system goals.
  • Maintains professional development by expanding knowledge base of methodologies and techniques including Model for Improvement, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and Lean.
