    Program Summary

    The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

    Job Summary

    You will serve as the Internal Quality representative for the Engineer Section reporting directly to the Quality Manager. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to make decisions that improve Marine Corps Engineer equipment readiness, maintenance quality, performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

    Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducts detailed technical inspections on Engineer equipment.

  • Interpret and communicate technical manual requirements to workforce and management.

  • Analyze and display Global Combat Support Systems Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), and Marine Corps Preposition Information Center (MCPIC) data to ensure that equipment is ready for delivery to the customer.

  • Monitor and update the Quality Management System Data Base (eQMS).

  • Ensure that all customer generated quality complaints are answered properly and in a timely manner.

  • Interpret the Statement of Work and how it applies to the Engineer section.

  • Serve as liaison to government Quality Assurance Equipment Specialists, facilitates and maintains an excellent working relationship with all government counterparts.

  • Monitor the activities of all personnel engaged in the Engineer maintenance process, to improve quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain an SF 85-NACI and maintain it for the duration of your employment. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of directly related work experience as a maintenance shop chief in USMC or Army Quality Control and/or 3rd, 4th Echelon or depot Level of maintenance.

  • Must possess working knowledge of MCO 4790.2_, MCO P4400.150_, GCSS-MC and applicable reports, or Army equivalents.

  • Requires an in-depth understanding of Marine Corps or Army policies, regulations, and orders.

  • Must possess knowledge and application of quality assurance principles and techniques.

  • Requires knowledge and understanding of maintenance management functional areas/MMO.

  • Must have Working knowledge of DoD publications and associated resources to include Marine Corps Publication Distribution System (MCPDS).

  • Must have robust ability to use standard commercial word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and statistical software applications.

  • Must comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • (USMC MOS, or Army equivalent 1391, 1341, 1345, 1310, 1169, 1161, 1141, 1142, 1171, 1120). Completed applicable maintenance related training through progression in rank (Journeyman School, Intermediate Maintenance Training for NCO's/SNCO's, Chief School).

  • Familiar with Six Sigma or other process improvement methods.

  • Lean / Six Sigma Yellow Belt Trained.

  • Utilize quality data and reports to identify maintenance status, trends and process deficiencies.

  • Provide quality presentations and metrics to brief senior leadership and make recommendations on ways to improve quality and reduce non-conformances.

  • Coordinate with management to brief and train employees on the techniques and tools to identify, analyze, and lead efforts to solve problems and to provide improved customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct training on quality trends and ways to improve quality.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, establish and leads teams to implement process improvement initiatives and documents team progress.

  • Collect, monitor, display, interpret, and communicate process metrics to senior management team.

  • Achieve quality performance and productivity goals.

  • Provide coordination with other groups to accomplish tasks outside normal areas of responsibility.

  • Develop and implement new maintenance procedures as needed and make recommendations to improve ISO documents.

  • Attend all quality-related meetings and technical presentations.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
