Position Title:    Divisional Statistician

Reports to:         Divisional Secretary for Program

FLSA Status:       REG/FT/ 40hrs/week/NE

Hourly Range :   $23.00 - $25.00                 

Job Summary: The Divisional Statistician’s key responsibilities include collecting and reviewing all statistical information from HIPAC corps and programs, ensuring that all statistical records and reports are properly updated and maintained in a timely manner. This position will provide statistical support to the Program Department by taking responsibility for routine statistical tasks and preparing reports as requested. The Divisional Statistician will also provide administrative and program support to the Divisional Secretary for Program as requested.

The Program Department exists to train, resource, and support corps and centers throughout the division, while promoting The Salvation Army’s mission of soul-winning, increasing operational effectiveness, and encouraging the growth and development of ministry opportunities across the Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Experience in administrative work preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Familiarity with The Salvation Army mission, organizational structure, and community-based operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
  • Must be willing to travel for training.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite in Honolulu, Hawaii.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in statistical reporting, analytics, and operational data tracking.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems.
  • Ability to analyze trends, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of NSS/Turbo Stats, Corps Management System, TSAMM Angel Tree, and WellSky software in order to assist and train field personnel in their use.
  • Assist Corps, DHQ, and THQ in properly interpreting statistics and providing historical data as requested.
  • Serve as a resource and guide to unit statisticians throughout the Division.
  • Update Corps Management System when necessary and assist Corps with soldier transfers as needed.
  • Respond to questions from the field and DHQ departments.
  • Send reminders to Corps/Units regarding statistical deadlines and special reporting instructions.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of Turbo Stats and Corps Management reports from all HIPAC Corps and Units.
  • Review all submissions for completion and accuracy, requesting clarification when necessary.
  • Submit monthly reports to THQ in a timely manner.
  • Prepare regular reports for DHQ staff officers and program directors.
  • Process custom statistical reports as requested.
  • Prepare quarterly statistical comparisons for each Corps/Unit to review with the Divisional Secretary for Program, identifying trends and ensuring accuracy of data entry.

Annual Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and materials for Divisional Review and Corps Program Reviews.
  • Prepare, review, and submit year-end reports as requested by Territorial Headquarters.

Program Support:

  • Thanksgiving- provide support in preparation leading up to and including the day of activities as assigned by DSP.
  • Assist with Events as requested by DSP.

Other Functions:

  • Attend all scheduled staff and other administrative meetings
  • Attend regular meetings with the Divisional Secretary for Program (DSP) to discuss related areas of ministry.
  • Maintain regular and punctual work attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
