What is a state program manager?

State Program Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating government or organizational programs at the state level. They manage program implementation, ensure compliance with regulations, allocate resources, and monitor progress to achieve program objectives. State Program Managers often work with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and the public, to deliver services effectively. Their role is critical in ensuring that programs operate efficiently and meet the needs of the state’s residents.

How does a state program manager typically coordinate with local teams and stakeholders to ensure program success?

A State Program Manager regularly collaborates with local teams, government agencies, and external stakeholders to align program objectives and resolve challenges that arise during implementation. This often involves facilitating meetings, providing guidance and resources, and ensuring consistent communication across all levels. Effective coordination helps maintain program compliance, achieve target outcomes, and quickly address any emerging issues. Building strong relationships and fostering open channels of communication are essential aspects of the role.

Job description

We're in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work-work that changes the world-is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented leader to own Everpure's global Distribution Program Manager- end to end. This role is responsible for designing how distribution operates within the Everpure partner ecosystem and then making that design real. You will own not just the strategy, but the outcomes.
As Distribution Partner Program Manager, you will define the structure, economics, and operating model for our global distributor program - and you will be fully accountable for bringing it to life. That means designing the program, driving its operationalization, ensuring field adoption, and measuring its effectiveness. Strategy without execution is not enough in this role.
You will work closely with Distribution Account Managers (DAMs), Partner Account Managers (PAMs), Partner Sales Managers (PSMs), Finance, Channel Ops, Marketing, Enablement, and Sales leadership to ensure the program reflects how distributors sell, deliver, and scale in the market - and that it drives the behaviors aligned to Everpure's growth priorities.
This role operates within the overall Global Partner Program Center of Excellence and is expected to operate as part of a coordinated system, not an independent program. You will be accountable for defining and executing the distribution program within that framework - translating strategy into a program that works in the field and delivers measurable outcomes.
This role owns the program - the design, economics, and framework that govern how distribution partners engage with Everpure. Distributor relationships are owned and managed by Distribution Account Managers (DAMs) within the GPO Field organization; this role partners closely with DAMs but does not carry direct relationship ownership.
LOCATION: This role is located in Santa Clara, California and is required to be in the office five days a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Program Design and Evolution
  • Define and continuously evolve the global distribution partner program, including structure, tier requirements, partner benefits, and distributor expectations
  • Design the distribution program within the strategic direction and guardrails set by the Director, Partner Program
  • Conduct competitive analyses to ensure the Everpure distribution program remains differentiated and compelling in the market
  • Document current-state vs. future-state program design and maintain a clear roadmap of improvements and investments

Program Economics and Incentives
  • Design, execute, and optimize distribution economic models and incentives within the overall investment strategy, including customized partner investment frameworks for top distributors
  • Define customized distribution investment frameworks with clear milestones and measurable outcomes tied to distributor performance and Everpure business priorities
  • Ensure incentive structures reward higher-value contributions from distribution
  • Maintain a strong command of pricing models and discount structures to ensure alignment with distribution strategy

Program Operationalization and Launch Readiness
  • Own end-to-end operationalization of distribution program elements - not just the design, but the delivery
  • Partner cross-functionally with Channel Ops, IT, Finance, Enablement, and Marketing to ensure systems, processes, tools, and content are ready before any program change goes live
  • Drive launch readiness for your program area: documentation, communications, enablement assets, and internal alignment must be complete and confirmed prior to launch
  • Establish and maintain a single source of truth for distribution program requirements, policies, and documentation

Governance, Compliance, and Performance
  • Ensure program compliance for distribution in alignment with standards defined by the Program Governance & Compliance Lead
  • Define and track success criteria, metrics, and KPIs to measure program effectiveness and distributor performance
  • Use performance data to continuously improve program design and investment decisions
  • Participate in governance reviews and cross-program coordination to ensure consistency across the Global Partner Program Center of Excellence
  • Partner with the Program Governance & Compliance Lead to ensure adherence to program policies and escalate exception requests through the defined governance process

Field Alignment and Adoption
  • Partner closely with DAMs, PAMs, and PSMs as the primary program resource - providing the frameworks, policies, and tools that enable them to manage distributor relationships effectively
  • Gather and synthesize field and partner feedback to continuously inform program evolution
  • Drive partner and field adoption of program elements and ensure the program is understood, actionable, and impactful in real-world execution
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 8+ years of experience in partner programs, channel strategy, distribution management, or go-to-market roles within a technology company
  • Proven track record of designing and operationalizing distribution or channel programs that deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of distribution business models, including rebates, pricing, discounting, and operational structures
  • Experience building and optimizing incentive models with clear ROI outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to own both strategy and execution - this role requires you to think and do
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate program performance and drive data-informed decisions
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Enablement
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate program requirements and drive alignment
  • Experience working closely with field-facing teams (DAMs, PAMs, PSMs) to design programs that enable effective distributor engagement, with a clear understanding of the distinction between program ownership and relationship management
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage competing priorities without losing execution momentum
