Invariant Corporation is seeking a highly capable Program Manager to lead the execution of a complex Department of War weapons development contract from program start through delivery. This role is accountable for total program performance, including cost, schedule, technical execution, customer satisfaction, subcontractor performance, and compliance with contractual requirements. The Program Manager will serve as the primary internal and external leader for the effort and must be able to drive disciplined execution in a fast-paced, high-consequence development environment. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties Include:

  • Support the Program in the execution of all contractual program requirements.
  • Lead all aspects of program execution for a DoW weapons development effort.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to the customer for contractual, execution, and status matters.
  • Establish and maintain the integrated program plan across engineering, test, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and subcontractor teams.
  • Drive cost, schedule, and technical performance to meet or exceed contract requirements.
  • Lead program reviews, risk reviews, design reviews, milestone reviews, and customer status meetings.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of program baselines, including budget, schedule, staffing, and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective management of program risks, issues, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with the Chief Engineer and functional leaders to balance technical performance with program constraints.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier performance, including technical progress, contractual deliverables, and schedule alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, CDRLs, EVMS or equivalent controls, security requirements, and internal governance processes.
  • Lead internal decision-making and escalation related to program execution challenges.
  • Develop and present executive-level and customer-facing program status, recovery plans, and strategy recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or related field.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for positions requiring a Security Clearance
  • US Passport- for required travel
  • Demonstrated success leading complex DoW development programs involving hardware, software, integration, and test.
  • Strong understanding of defense acquisition, program execution, and the realities of development in a regulated environment.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance simultaneously.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, contracts, finance, and quality.
  • Experience with subcontractor management, including performance oversight, deliverables, and issue resolution.
  • Experience building and executing integrated program plans and driving accountability across multiple organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, program controls, milestone execution, and customer communications.
  • Ability to translate technical complexity into actionable program direction for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with DoW contracts, program reporting, contract modifications, and development-phase execution.
  • Experience in weapons systems, munitions, energetics, missile systems, UAS, C-UAS, defense electronics, or other relevant defense development programs is strongly desired.
  • Understanding of and experience with multiple contract types and regulations (FAR 15, 16, OT & CPFF, FFP, and T&M)

Preferred skills:

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience on ACAT, rapid prototyping, or urgent operational need programs.
  • Experience with EVMS, IMS-driven execution, and formal program control environments.
  • Experience leading programs involving live-fire test, qualification, or military fielding.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, DMSMS, production transition, and sustainment planning.
  • Experience briefing senior government and executive leadership.

Work Environment:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use stairs for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities during travel.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% CONUS & OCONUS

This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
