Job description

A postdoctoral position is available to study novel therapeutic targets and molecular mechanisms associated with therapeutic resistance in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) working with Carl M. Gay, MD, PhD at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Dr.

Gay's research is largely interested in the discovery and validation of potential drug targets, biomarkers of therapeutic response, and mechanisms of resistance to therapy in SCLC and other high-grade neuroendocrine cancers. Job Knowledge and Skills: Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated candidate, with the ability to function independently and as part of an interactive team A strong background in molecular biology, cellular therapy, and/or immunology/immunotherapy Experience in cellular therapies and/or antibody-drug-conjugates is preferred Experience in flow cytometry is preferred Dedication to basic research, a true "drive", is important Prior experience with studies involving mice is preferred Excellent command of written and spoken English language Prior publication record All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. LEARNING OBJECTIVES The trainee will learn how to design and execute quantitative research in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, with the highest standard of ethical, responsible, and rigorous scientific research.

The trainee will participate in professional development activities and in collaborative projects and present findings at a prestigious national/international conference, to prepare for the chosen career. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Applications are invited from qualified individuals, interested in working in translational research, with a Ph.D. and/or M.D

Preferred candidate should have less than 2 years of prior postdoctoral experience with background in cancer biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology and be highly motivated to pursue a career in laboratory based biomedical research.
