A Startup Nutrition Remote job typically involves working for a startup company in the nutrition or health sector, with all work performed remotely rather than at a physical office. These roles may range from nutrition consulting and content creation to product development, marketing, or customer support. Employees collaborate online using digital tools, allowing for flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere. This setup is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic work environment in the nutrition field without the need to commute.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote nutritionist in a startup environment?

To thrive as a Remote Nutritionist in a startup, you need a degree in nutrition or dietetics, relevant certifications (such as RD or CNS), and a solid understanding of evidence-based nutrition practices. Experience with telehealth platforms, nutrition tracking software, and digital communication tools is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and adaptability help you engage clients and collaborate within a fast-paced, evolving startup environment. These skills ensure you can deliver high-quality, personalized nutrition advice while supporting business growth and client satisfaction remotely.

What are some common challenges faced by nutrition professionals working remotely in a startup environment?

Remote nutrition professionals in startups often navigate fast-paced changes, shifting priorities, and limited resources. Job description

Virtual Registered Dietitian - Vedic Nutrition
W2 Per Diem | Fully Remote | Flexible Hours | $40-$60/hour
About Vedic Nutrition
Vedic Nutrition was founded by a husband-and-wife team - both passionate about the power of nutrition, and one of them a Registered Dietitian. After witnessing firsthand how transformative dietitian-led care can be, we set out to expand nutrition counseling access and build the tech enabled infrastructure for dietitians to change more lives one session at a time.
We are not another VC-funded telehealth startup. We're a nibble and fast growing, dietitian-founded company built on delivering human centered care. We support clients with weight loss, obesity, holistic health, high cholesterol, diabetes, PCOS, IBS, disordered eating and more.
Why Join us:
  • Focus on clients, not admin work: Our admin team provides end to end support from reschedules, benefits verification, and insurance billing so you can focus on providing care.
  • Consistent caseloads: We invest substantially to provide a steady stream of new clients to build your clientele and prioritize your calendar time (ramping up takes 3-12 weeks).
  • Flexible hours: Set your own schedule, we are open 24/7 with required 5 hours of evening and/or weekend availability when client demand is highest. You can join full time or part time.
  • Al-powered software stack: We've built an easy and intuitive AI powered charting tool which cuts note charting time significantly. Additionally we will provide digital tools for client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Autonomy & Professional Growth: Maintain autonomy over your style, approach and clinical judgement. Leadership opportunities and pay rate increases based on performance and company growth.
  • Benefits for all RDs: No show and late cancellation compensation, paid training and free CE opportunities.
  • Benefits for full time RDs: PTO, 401K and tax-free health benefit you can use for any insurance plan (including spouse coverage) and medical expenses via QSEHRA.
What You'll Do:
  • Deliver weekly 53+ minutes virtual nutrition counseling sessions rooted in motivational interviewing with a human centered approach.
  • Build authentic client relationships that lead to lasting, long-term transformation.
  • Counsel beyond nutrition across movement, sleep, stress and life to address the root cause of dietary struggles.
  • Be an empathetic and curious health partner who navigates the messiness of your client's busy schedules and family life to provide practical support.
  • Maintain your flexible schedule, book follow-up appointments during the live session, assign actionable micro-goals to drive real outcomes.
  • Document sessions using our AI-powered charting system within 24-48 hours (takes under 3 minutes per session).
Requirements
Who you are:
  • A Registered Dietitian with active credentials through CDR
  • 1-2 years of outpatient counseling experience preferred but not required
  • A natural empathic relationship builder, who is genuinely curious and interested in people.
  • A non-judgemental provider who normalizes setbacks on your clients health journey.
  • Motivational interviewing is your foundation. You utilize the OARS framework to evoke intrinsic motivation and support realistic goals.
  • Eager to learn and strive to continuously improve on your counseling skills.
  • You're tech-adaptable, excited to improve workflows with the power of technology.
Minimum Commitment:
  • Part time: Minimum 15 bookable hours per week
  • Full time: Minimum 30 bookable hours per week
  • 5 hours of evening and/or weekend availability required
  • Willingness to obtain Texas licensure as part of onboarding

Performance Ownership & Expectations:
  • Our RD's conduct weekly 53+ minute sessions

  • Paid training and onboarding stipend
