Starting CNAs assist with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing patients, as well as monitoring vital signs under the supervision of nurses. They play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and supporting medical staff. Most starting CNAs have completed a state-approved training program and passed a certification exam. Starting CNAs often face challenges such as adjusting to physically demanding tasks, managing a fast-paced workload, and developing strong communication skills with both patients and healthcare teams. It's important to prioritize self-care, seek support from experienced colleagues, and take advantage of employer-provided training or mentorship programs.
