Description

The Starter is a 7–8-month seasonal position. All candidates are expected to work a minimum of 2-3 days per week and possibly one weekend day. Additional hours may be required during tournament weeks. Members of our starter team must have an adequate knowledge of the game of golf as well as value being part of a strong team-oriented culture. Our Starter is also required to maintain a high level of quality appearance standards as you are interacting with all golfing members, as well as their guests.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Professional, Assistant Professional and Golf Shop Staff with the execution of all daily play, events and golf outings
  • Be available and visible to members/guests and provide exemplary service
  • Communicate effectively with members and guests
  • Assist the Head Professional in enforcing the club's rules and policies for golf including the dress code
  • Greet members and guests as they arrive to the first tee, track and record cart and guest fees, and monitor pace and play on the course
  • Keep accurate records on the daily tee sheets
  • Maintain, stock and take care of the starter shack for members and their guests. Starters are expected to be able to keep up with all the accoutrements that are provided by the club and assist members and their guests with whatever they may need for an elite golf experience.

Working Conditions

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift items over 10 lbs., work in varying weather conditions, and hear and speak clearly.
