Description
StarCare Specialty Health System ("StarCare") seeks to hire a full-time Environmental Service Worker to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our properties. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Knowledge of various cleaning procedures, chemicals and equipment is beneficial.
Essential Duties:
  • Cleans, dusts, and disinfects areas such as restrooms, offices, and other facilities.
  • Cleans office furniture, walls, windows, and floors, and empties trash.
  • Moves office furniture and other items to ensure proper cleaning.
  • Operates floor maintenance equipment, including buffers, strippers, vacuums, and extractors.
  • Restocks custodial supplies and replenishes soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
  • May perform minor maintenance and repair work on custodial equipment.
  • May assist in inspecting buildings and facilities for cleanliness and report needed repairs.
  • Assists supervisor or other agency staff with special projects or assignments as needed.
  • This position works under close supervision from the Environmental Services Manager.
  • Must adhere to all StarCare and applicable regulations, rules, and policies.

Schedule:
This is a full-time/non-exempt (overtime-eligible) position. Primary location will be one of StarCare's multiple facilities. Schedule/shift will be discussed in the interview.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in environmental services, preferred.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions and remain on task independently.
  • Familiarity with cleaning products and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to handle floor maintenance equipment (buffers, strippers, vacuums, and extractors).
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employees, customers in service and the public.
  • Ability to show compassion towards the people supported by StarCare.
  • Must abide by all StarCare confidentiality requirements.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a Texas driver's license, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
