Part Time Records Technician/FOIA Analyst, Remote, Surge Support/Standby Hires
This is a surge support position on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours.
***This position requires an active Public Trust level clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered. ***
SUMMARY
Part Time Records Technician/FOIA Analyst, Surge Support/Standby will provide support services to reduce a backlog of FOIA requests and reduce overall FOIA response times.

Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Part Time FOIA Analyst/Records Technician, Surge Support/Standby: $25 - $26/hour
Pay commensurate with experience.
Part Time FOIA Analyst/Records Technician, Surge Support/Standby Responsibilities Include:
  • Access pre-scanned images of the records containing the information requested in the FOIA/PA request.
  • Validate the requestor entitlement for the information requested, redacting information and applying exemptions as necessary, preparing the appropriate responses, and electronically submitting to Government staff for approvals.
  • Details of verification and review include information such as:
  • Subject/Requester name, address, information for accuracy.
  • Review Discussions.
  • Review Case Supporting Docs and/or Requester Docs.
  • If correctional facility, do not print to CD (when applicable).
  • Confirm Consent, when applicable, dependent on the nature of the case.
  • Verify responsive records correspond to request and correct subject.
  • Determine if the request is a FOIA or PA.
  • Update the case note file.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Part Time FOIA Analyst/Records Technician, Surge Support/Standby Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
High school diploma and at least 1 year of college or one year of experience working with legal documents in a government or private law office. At least 6 months of on-the-job experience using a computer terminal and 1 to 3 years of experience with records management or document control to include management of both manual and automated information required. Some experience related to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is preferred.
  • Candidates with prior USCIS FOIA Processing experience are preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently and type proficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and distinguish different kinds of legal documents and their purpose.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain tracking systems for the completion of work assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically and to apply general principles to specific situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot minor computer issues/maintenance
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Successfully pass a Federal background check and a drug screen.
