Curant Health is searching for a PRN Pharmacist to join its team in Smyrna, GA. This position is primarily responsible for managing the prescription fulfillment process from within the pharmacy. This position serves as a link between patient, physician and pharmacy by performing the following duties.
Possible schedule: Monday - Friday (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for daily completion of all activities related to dispensing prescriptions in accordance with the organization's policies and all applicable laws by following standard operating procedures for ordering, receiving, filling, dispensing, logging and maintain loss prevention controls. Verifies that each prescription is accurately filled with the correct medication, in the appropriate dosage, and in the correct quantity.
  • Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, overseeing supportive personnel, dispensing of medications, performing prescription transfers, drug interaction reviews and drug utilization reviews.
  • Proficient in completing all aspects of daily prescription processing duties of the pharmacist including the proper handling, usage, storage and shipping of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug related information and literature.
  • Fosters an environment that nurtures collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect through effective communication, and demonstrates positive communication skills evidenced by effective working relationships.
Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and/or an advanced degree in pharmacy
  • 3 years of experience
  • Licensed in the state of Georgia
  • Strong staff and patient relationship skills
  • Strong professional and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
