Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Financial Representative responsible for interviewing patients and/or family members to secure information concerning insurance coverage, eligibility, and qualification for various financial assistance programs. The role includes calculating estimated patient responsibility, collecting payments, maintaining patient schedules, and acting as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, physicians, and insurance payors.
Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and/or family members to secure information on insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Calculate and communicate estimated patient responsibility, adhering to the Collections Policy.
  • Collect payments prior to or on the date of service and set up payment arrangements.
  • Ensure accurate entry of insurance plan, eligibility, and authorization information into data systems.
  • Provide clinical information to insurance companies for pre-certification/authorization processes.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, patients, physicians, and insurance payors, handling authorization or benefit inquiries.

  • Basic understanding of benefit verification, including coverage, deductible, co-pay, coinsurance concepts, and patient estimates.
