The Standard Products Technician Will Service portables fire extinguishers and Kitchen systems.

Essential Duties-

Portable Fire Extinguishers

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, service, and recharge hand-portable, wheeled, and stationary fire extinguisher units.

  • Learn the proper use and application of all types of portable fire extinguishers.

  • Successfully complete required manufacturer certification(s).

Pre-Engineered Kitchen Systems

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and service pre-engineered kitchen suppression systems.

  • Install and perform maintenance on systems from various manufacturers.

  • Perform electrical, piping, and mechanical work related to system installation and service.

  • Accurately measure and calculate dimensions and specifications required for system design.

  • Successfully complete required manufacturer certification(s).

Emergency Lighting Systems

  • Inspect, test, and verify the operation and placement of emergency lighting systems.

  • Replace bulbs and batteries as needed.

  • Support the sale of new emergency exit lighting units (installation must be completed by a licensed electrician).

Job Requirements-

  • Ability to perform hazard analyses of customer facilities to determine fire protection needs.

  • Ability to utilize code books, manuals, and other technical resources.

  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping.

  • Professional communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring devices, including tape measures.

Essential Functions-

  • Ability to drive a vehicle for extended periods on a regular basis.

  • Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined or enclosed spaces.

  • Physical capability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (50 lbs. or more).

  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, and move throughout the workday.

  • Ability to walk long distances repeatedly.

  • Ability to work in adverse conditions, including exposure to:

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of environments.

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

  • Ability to work in commercial, industrial, and construction settings.

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and on active job sites.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Other Duties- as assigned by management.

Pay Range:

$22-$24 per hour DOE
