About HPF:

Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, close tolerance, fatigue rated fasteners using materials such as alloy steel, 718, titanium, waspaloy, A-286 and multiphase. Our fasteners support most current space programs as well as our nation’s fleet of military aircraft and weapon systems. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers and seek only highly qualified people who take pride in their work to be part of our growing team.


Job purpose: The Stamping Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating high-speed power presses to produce precision fasteners. Transforming raw metal stock into high-strength components used in mission-critical applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, align, and lock specified dies and tools into 20–200-ton presses. Adjust stroke, feed lengths, and pressure settings.
  • Run production lots while constantly monitoring machine performance to prevent tool breakage or part misalignment.
  • Perform frequent in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications.
  • Load heavy metal coils or strips onto decoilers and thread them through straighteners and feeders.
  • Perform basic PM (Preventative Maintenance) on machines, including lubrication and cleaning of die sets.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, part counts, and quality rejection reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating stamping presses (Minster, Bliss, or similar) in a metal manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (CMM experience is a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts in non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Strong grasp of shop math, including decimals and basic geometry.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with progressive dies or multi-stage stamping.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy (specifically high-nickel alloys or stainless steel common in fastener production).
