Stair Builder

Summit Stairs & Millwork Inc. is hiring Stair Builders responsible for assembling stairs and millwork products. This position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Benefits:

Responsibilities:

  • Construct standard and unique custom stairs, including circular and open stairs, or stair components.
  • Safely operate tools and equipment, including saws (circular, jig, reciprocating, and compound miter), planers, and pneumatic equipment, to build custom staircases.
  • Organize stair and millwork supplies to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
  • Perform other special projects and shop/warehouse duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to measure materials and mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators accurately.
  • Capability to work effectively in a high-paced team environment to meet daily production goals.
  • Comfort working in a dusty and noisy environment while operating machines and tools.
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift 65 pounds from ground level to standing position and 20 pounds above head.
    • Pull 20 pounds from standing and kneeling positions, including above head.
    • Stand and/or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
    • Frequently bend and stoop during an 8-10-hour shift.

Minimum Experience:

  • Entry-level position; background in physical labor preferred.
  • Experience using multiple types of woodworking equipment is preferred.
