Stage Building involves the detailed construction and assembly of stage sets, requiring technical skills like carpentry and rigging. What is stage building?

Stage building is the process of designing, constructing, and assembling temporary or permanent platforms, sets, and structures used for performances, events, or presentations. This work typically involves carpentry, rigging, and sometimes the installation of lighting and sound equipment. Stage builders work closely with event organizers, set designers, and production teams to ensure the stage meets safety standards and creative requirements. Their work is essential for concerts, theater productions, conferences, and other live events.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Stage Builder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Stage Builder, you need strong carpentry skills, spatial awareness, and an understanding of stage design principles, often backed by experience or vocational training in construction or theater production. Familiarity with power tools, rigging equipment, and safety certifications like OSHA are typically required. Attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help ensure safe and efficient set assembly under tight deadlines. These skills are crucial for creating reliable, visually appealing stage environments that support successful performances and maintain safety standards.

What is the highest paying building job?

In the field of stage building, the highest paying roles are often senior technical directors or production managers, who oversee complex setups and coordinate large-scale productions. These positions typically require extensive experience, specialized skills, and sometimes certifications, and they can earn six-figure salaries depending on the scale of the events and the employer.

What are some common challenges faced by stage building professionals during large-scale productions?

Stage building professionals often encounter challenges such as tight deadlines, last-minute design changes, and coordination with multiple departments like lighting and sound. Managing safety protocols while working with heavy equipment and elevated platforms is also essential. Effective communication and adaptability are key to overcoming these hurdles, ensuring the set is constructed safely, efficiently, and to the exact specifications required by the production.

Burna AI

Full-time

Job description

The Company Burna AI is building the safety and data quality platform for oncology drug development. We start with the single most painful workflow in drug safety: adverse event grading. Our CTCAE AI platform automates what takes trained coordinators 15 to 20 minutes per adverse event.

Multi-drug causality attribution. Batch clinical note processing. Real-time architecture.

Zero hallucinations by design. Human-in-the-loop always. CTCAE v5.0 and v6.0 coverage.

We are a CancerX member (HHS Cancer Moonshot Initiative), have active engagement with multiple NCI-designated cancer centers, and are closing a $3M SAFE seed round. Our advisory board includes 20+ members spanning clinical oncology, pharma clinical development, and enterprise strategy. The Role We are looking for a Chief Commercial Officer to build and lead the commercial engine that takes Burna AI from design partnerships to first revenue and beyond.

This is not a "sales VP at a company that already has product-market fit" role. This is a build from-scratch leadership position at a company with strong clinical validation signals, an enthusiastic reception from every audience that sees the product, and no commercial infrastructure yet. You will create the playbook, not execute someone else's.

You will work directly with the CEO to shape go-to-market strategy, close first commercial partnerships, build key relationships across cancer centers, CROs, and pharma, and position Burna AI for the revenue trajectory that funds a Series A. What You Own Commercial strategy and execution. Build Burna AI's commercial playbook across NCI designated cancer centers, academic medical centers, oncology networks, CROs, and pharma sponsors.

Define pricing, packaging, and revenue models. Own pipeline development and commercial performance. Enterprise sales.

Lead complex sales cycles with health systems, cancer centers, and research organizations. These are 6 to 12 month cycles with clinical champions, technical evaluators, compliance/IRB, and finance stakeholders. You need to know how to navigate all of them.

Pharma and CRO partnerships. Build relationships with pharma VP/Heads of Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance, CRO operations leaders, and clinical data management teams. Position our data quality capabilities as a service to sponsors running multi-site oncology trials.

Design partnership conversion. We are currently in design partnership mode with several cancer centers. You will help convert these relationships from unpaid design partnerships into commercial contracts.

Team building. Build and scale the commercial team as revenue warrants. We have SDR support in place; you will shape the structure above it.

Revenue context. Our initial target is $25K to $150K per cancer center annually in SaaS revenue, with additional revenue streams from pharma data quality services and CMS-reimbursable remote therapeutic monitoring. The addressable market across our customer segments is large and unaddressed by any purpose-built incumbent.

Who You Are Required: Proven track record driving revenue in healthcare, life sciences, digital health, or health tech, ideally at early-stage or growth-stage companies Deep understanding of how cancer centers, health systems, and/or clinical research organizations buy software Experience selling into hospitals, health systems, pharma, biotech, or CROs Familiarity with oncology, clinical trials, or drug development ecosystems Comfortable at seed stage: building process from zero, operating with limited resources, moving fast Strong executive presence and the ability to hold a room with a Chief Research Officer, a VP of Pharmacovigilance, or an investor Builder mindset, not an optimizer of existing systems Strongly preferred: Experience in oncology or clinical trial operations specifically Relationships at NCI-designated cancer centers or major CROs Understanding of healthcare procurement cycles, IRB processes, and compliance requirements Experience with SaaS pricing models in healthcare Prior experience as a commercial leader at a company from pre-revenue through first $1M+ ARR Nice to have: Understanding of adverse event workflows, CTCAE, or pharmacovigilance Network in the pharma sponsor ecosystem (VP Patient Safety, VP Drug Safety, Head of PV) Experience with EHR or EDC platforms (Epic, Oracle Health, Medidata, Veeva) Compensation This role offers a combination of equity and cash compensation appropriate for a seed-stage leadership hire. Cash compensation is contingent on the close of our current $3M seed round. Equity: Meaningful equity participation with standard vesting.

Specific terms discussed with qualified candidates. Cash: Base salary contingent on round close, with specifics based on experience and engagement structure. We are transparent about our stage and honest about trade-offs between cash and equity upside.

We are building in a large market with no purpose-built software incumbent. The commercial leader who joins now will define how this market is sold into. Why Burna AI Every demo we give gets an enthusiastic response.

The product works. The manual process it replaces (15 to 20 minutes per event, 20 to 30% variability between graders, no standardization) is the real competitor, and there is no software incumbent addressing it. If you have built commercial functions in healthcare before and you are excited about the intersection ofAI, oncology, and the opportunity to define a new category, we want to hear from you.

The Team Nnenna John, Founder and CEO. 20 years in software engineering. 6 years at Airbnb building infrastructure for 150M+ users across 220+ countries.

Pascal Ezeugwu, Lead Engineer and Co-Founder. Fullstack engineer with deep EHR expertise. Owns the real-time architecture, integration layer, and zero-hallucination design.

Advisory board of 20+ members including former pharma Principal Medical Directors, NIH Division Directors, NCI cancer center leadership, and oncology CRO executives. Equal Opportunity Statement Burna AI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
