Job description

Position Title:       Warehouse Staff

– Party & Events Industry

Position Tasks & Activities

Core Responsibility: Truck Loading & Unloading

  • Load company trucks accurately and efficiently using computer-generated pick lists
    • Move equipment to staging areas and prepare items prior to loading
    • Verify, count, and check off all equipment during loading and unloading
    • Secure all equipment to vehicles according to company procedures
    • Ensure all required supplies (straps, tools, bags, etc.) are loaded
    • Turn in completed load sheets to the Operations Supervisor
    • Be responsible and accountable for all items loaded onto trucks


Unloading & Returns Processing

  • Do not unload trucks without proper paperwork
    • Assist drivers with safe and efficient unloading of equipment
    • Check in all returned equipment and verify accuracy
    • Return equipment to proper warehouse locations immediately
    • Report damaged equipment, missing items, or improperly loaded trucks to supervisor


Operations Support & Communication

  • Maintain constant communication with the Operations Supervisor regarding:
  • Missing equipment
  • Load discrepancies
  • Time constraints
  • Safety concerns
  • Support the Operations Supervisor in executing daily warehouse and logistics operations
    • Assist with inbound truck checklists and receiving processes


Warehouse Organization & Readiness

  • Ensure all equipment is prepared in advance of scheduled loading dates
    • Maintain clean, organized warehouse and dock areas
    • Keep shelves, staging areas, and floors clean and clear of debris
    • Stock shipping and supply carts as needed
    • Maintain proper equipment layout per company diagrams


Quality Control & Ready to Rent Integration

  • Follow “Ready to Rent” procedures by placing returned items in proper processing areas
    • Inspect equipment for damage, missing parts, or operational issues
    • Complete service tags and notify supervisor when issues are identified


General Responsibilities

  • Report safety violations immediately
    • Follow all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
    • Comply with all government safety requirements and operational standards
    • Attend department, store, and safety meetings
    • Fill in for other roles when necessary to support smooth operations
    • Perform other duties as requested


Nature of the Work

The work is highly physical and requires strength, endurance, and attention to detail. This role is critical to the success of daily operations, ensuring that all equipment is properly loaded, unloaded, and accounted for.

The Warehouse Staff member works closely with the Operations Supervisor and serves as a key link between warehouse operations and field delivery teams. Responsibilities include supporting loading operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring overall operational readiness.


Working Conditions

Must stand for long periods of time. Most work is performed indoors in a warehouse environment, though some areas may not be climate controlled.

This role requires frequent lifting, walking, bending, and handling of equipment of various sizes and weights. Exposure to chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene, and cleaning solvents may occur.

This position involves constant interaction with coworkers and requires a strong awareness of surroundings and safety practices.


Education, Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred but not required
    • Must be able to lift approximately 100 lbs
    • Forklift certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days
    • Must maintain a professional personal appearance
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to follow written, verbal, and scheduled instructions
    • Basic math and problem-solving skills
    • Computer knowledge preferred (training provided)
    • Ability to communicate clearly in English; bilingual is a plus
    • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
    • Must have full range of motion and physical capability for manual labor
    • Must maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers
    • Must pass company drug screening
