You will lead programs in a principled way, and lead by example centering quality and developer experience when the opportunities arise. You will have exceptional communication skills, keeping up- and down-stream dependencies well aligned, and all stakeholders well-informed.
You're as comfortable writing clear and concise content for leadership as you are leading a system design meeting.
Ideal candidates will have experienced multiple product cycles involving software and services, including up-and down-stream dependencies
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
• Partner with key stakeholders to define, scope, prioritize and deliver major strategic initiatives that span multiple teams and multiple organizations across Ford.
• Understand the needs of stakeholders across the company and use your influence as appropriate to achieve alignment on the prioritized initiatives.
• Lead the defining and tracking of success criteria and performance metrics, including Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] / Key Performance Indicators.
• Implement and execute roadmaps, schedules, project plans, and resourcing plans to enable Ford to meet customer commitments across all customer constituencies.
• Lead team members on modern, world-class, software development practices including CICD and principled execution of a technical plan (including management of milestone progress, dependency tracking, issue triage, backlog management and daily scrum leveraging tools like Jira).
• Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate risks across multiple engineering teams.
• Personally own the relationships with other divisions at Ford, ensuring dependencies are met and quality of deliverables is high.
• Embody the voice of the customer, guiding your team to be data-driven in its decision-making.
• Stakeholders will be heard inclusively and requirements / scope definition will be exhaustive
• Priorities will be set based upon aligned principles
• Direction will be set quickly and decisively
• You will lead by example with accountability
Qualifications
You'll have...
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar related technical field.
• 10+ years working experience in product, technical program management, or feature development on hardware, software, and/or services .
• Familiarity with modern software tracking tools (ie: JIRA, etc.).
• Familiarity with modern software development practices & tools (continuous integration / continuous deployment).
• Demonstrated success leading complex, large-scale, cross-functional software programs.
• Experience influencing and driving alignment across engineering, product, and business stakeholders from concept through launch and post launch iteration
Even better, you may have...
• Experience coaching other TPMs, improving processes, and creating reusable frameworks that scale beyond any single program.
• Expertise in Agile methodology.
• Experience defining success metrics, analyzing program data, and using dashboards or experimentation results to drive prioritization and decision making.
• Experience working with customers, connecting technical delivery to customer outcomes.
• Experience communicating program health, trade offs, and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
• Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
• Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
