Job Overview

The Development Director leads and manages fundraising efforts to support the financial sustainability and growth of Maharishi School. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating development initiatives, while fostering strong relationships with donors, alumni, and the broader school community.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Leadership
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Director to establish annual fundraising goals and budget.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, contributing to overall school strategy and planning.
  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan and timeline, with a focus on online campaigns and solicitations.
Board & Committee Relations
  • Maintain regular communication with the Development Committee of the Board of Directors regarding fundraising progress, goals, and financial needs.
  • Attend Board meetings (four times per year) and provide updates as needed.
  • Design and execute seasonal fundraising campaigns to inspire donor engagement and giving.
  • Utilize email platforms to create, distribute, and analyze campaigns, using data to improve effectiveness.
  • Coordinate messaging across email and social media channels in collaboration with the marketing team.
Data Management & Systems
  • Oversee the collection, organization, and secure storage of all fundraising data.
  • Partner with finance and administration to develop and maintain policies and procedures that ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Supervise and support the Alumni Coordinator in planning and executing alumni outreach, events, and fundraising initiatives to increase engagement and contributions.
  • Supervise and support the Fundraising Specialist in achieving defined goals within the annual development plan.
Donor Relations
  • Establish and uphold standards for donor recognition, appreciation, and stewardship to strengthen long-term relationships.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Respond to additional requests and initiatives as directed by the School Board.
Job Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with, and commitment to, Consciousness-Based education and the mission of Maharishi School.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Proven leadership and administrative capabilities.
  • Experience in fundraising, development, and/or financial management.
Technical & Physical Requirements
  • Proficiency with standard digital tools, including data management systems, word processing, and email platforms.
  • Working knowledge of donor and communication databases such as DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, BetterWorld, or similar systems.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and manage digital records efficiently.
