Description:

As a Director, Application Delivery this role provides technical direction, development oversight, and deployment of Homesteaders change and R&D initiatives. Your role will include driving technical direction, including the development and adherence to system/application architecture. You will help lead prototyping and rapid initiatives within the team, maintain in depth knowledge of future goals within the HLC technology landscape.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leads Application Development staff by organizing work, assigning tasks, and managing hiring, performance, and employee development.
  • Leads and mentors developers to uphold team culture, coding standards, quality, and efficiency.
  • Leads the shift to Agile, champions it to stakeholders, and supports CI/CD automation, occasionally serving as ScrumMaster and partnering with our internal delivery teams.
  • Manages departmental budgets, monitors performance, and sets standards, controls, and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborates with IT leadership to define strategy, application and data roadmaps, and procedures aligned to business goals, and maintains and updates these plans.
  • Partners with business units to assess software and application development needs, deliver effective technology solutions, and drive innovation that improves operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Works with business stakeholders and IT leadership to understand strategy, needs, and the pre-need insurance industry, and recommend innovative solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
  • 8+ years of progressive, applicable experience working with application development tools and processes.
  • 5+ years of .NET framework experience.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing SQL Server
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Understanding of systems development methodology best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD products such as Azure Pipelines a plus.
  • Experience with Git Repos, Actions and Runners.
  • Experience with AI Assisted (Copilot, Claude) Software Development strategies
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, techniques, and tools; 2+ years of agile experience, experience with agile transformations a plus.
