Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about accounting to support our corporate accounting functions. This position is primarily responsible for performing foundational accounting functions and supporting the Controller, Director of Finance and Accounting, and company leadership directives.

The selected candidate will work at our office in Huntsville with a hybrid of both in office and remote work (1 day per week).

What Youll Do

  • Serve as part of the billing team, managing the project billing process for assigned contracts. Includes reviewing project transaction reports, calculating bills within Deltek Costpoint, coordinating with contracts and program control departments, preparing supplemental reports, and submitting bills to customers either through customer portal or email.
  • Responsible for daily cash receipt applications and monitoring cash inflow for timely payments. Follow up with customers on untimely payments.
  • Complete recuring and adjusting journal entries in support of month end close.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • With input from other billing members, prepare monthly KPI updates and reporting for Billing (AR).
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax reports timely and accurately.
  • Backup accounting support for joint venture entities.
  • Support internal, DCAA, and external Accounting Audit efforts as led by the Controller and Director of Finance and Accounting.
  • Contribute to annual Incurred Cost Submission reporting
  • This position does not require travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or business-related field
  • 3 to 5 years of government contract accounting experience
  • Experience with project billing and month end close
  • Deltek Costpoint experience (Unanet, SAP or GFEBS will be considered)

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations including familiarity with Cost Accounting Standards
  • Familiar with invoice submission through Wide Area Work Flow
  • Familiar with state sales & use tax filings, and business tax payments
  • Advanced degree or certification
  • Accounts payable familiarity
