Job Description Job Summary Prepares and maintains accuracy of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to procedural standards. Provides management with accurate information in the areas of cost, budgets, payroll, and forecasting in an efficient manner. At this level, tasks and assignments tend to be general but may involve complex and/or non-routine assignments and duties are performed under limited supervision. This role will play a key part in driving process improvements, leading special projects, and developing/maintaining documentation of accounting processes and procedures across the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
* Proactively evaluates accounting processes and recommends process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness while maintaining audit integrity.
* Serve as a resource for process standardization and best practices across the team.
* Lead root cause analysis for accounting issues and implement sustainable solutions.
* Prepares schedules for corporate reporting.
* Provides record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
* Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for managers.
* Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
* Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
* Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state and local reports and tax returns.
* Serves as back-up for other accounting duties.
* Supports the preparation of year-end audit files and analysis.
