The ideal candidate for this position would have strong experience with equipment repair, strong mechanical aptitude, and specifically some experience working with electronics & or small motor repair.
Position Overview:
Alliance Source Testing is a service company that provide air sampling from industrial smokestacks. The Equipment Maintenance Technician is a vital part of the stack testing operations of each office. A self-starter who will work under the guidance of the Operations Manager and Project Management team. This position supports field work activities by ensuring that equipment is maintained to the standards of Alliance Source Testing. The Equipment Coordinator will support an office with at least 10 field personnel and will play a key role in maximizing efficiency of the field staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Repair, cleaning and organization of various test equipment as well as the warehouse/office facilities
  • Electrical and Mechanical repair of sampling equipment
  • Performing maintenance on sampling equipment
  • Calibration of sampling equipment following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Cleaning and preparation of sampling equipment (pre/post field work)
  • Cleaning, restocking and organizing standard equipment load-out on mobile laboratories
  • Maintaining the supply room and calibration gas inventory
  • Facility maintenance
  • Occasional transport of samples to various laboratories and test equipment to other AST offices
  • Tracking vehicle and trailer service intervals and making sure maintenance is performed on schedule
  • Assist in loading equipment for field projects
  • Maintain Positive Attitude with ability to work well in groups
  • travel (up to 25%)
  • Flexibility: Must be available to work 40+ hour weeks as well as some nights and weekends
  • Ability to submit timesheets and expense reports on time
  • Safety and DOT Compliance

    • Adheres to Health and Safety Program Manual
    • Follow all DOT requirements
    • Proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
    • Demonstrates ability to work safely in office

  • Conduct on-site field-testing assistance in a limited capacity
  • Equipment and mobile lab cleaning
  • Assist in equipment mobilizations and demobilizations
  • Follow current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment, maintenance programs and other policies
  • Ensure the company is represented in a professional manner while at customer sites and in the office
  • Follow all test methods, procedures, and processes as trained to do so for quality source testing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to drive a pickup truck and pull and enclosed trailer.
  • Must adhere to all company driving policies.

  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Willing to work some overtime and occasional weekends.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

Minimum Requirements:
Education AS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal)
Experience Previous stack testing experience is preferred. Use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Products and tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with sound knowledge of how things work. Basic vehicle maintenance with ability to drive a pickup truck and pull a mobile laboratory trailer. Use of basic office equipment: scanner, copier, PC, etc.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Good written and vocal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators) with professional appearance and behavior. Maintain positive attitude with ability to multi-task and work well in groups or as part of a team. Ability to work safely in a work and office environment, operate an Aerial Lift from the platform or deck and willingness to work at elevated heights on stack platforms up to 300 feet.
Certifications - Valid drivers license
Physical Requirements - Consistent standing or walking, bending, crouching or stooping, climbing ladders and/or stairs, frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Distinguish between shades of color.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The pay range for this role is $20-$25 depending on specific industry experience and transferable qualifications.
