Canopy Connect is building the infrastructure that powers best-in-class insurance experiences. We empower consumers to gain value and convenience from their own data, and we enable businesses to securely and quickly support their customers.
You will help lead the team's infrastructure initiatives. You'll build and own initiatives like scaling our infrastructure (MMs of heavy requests daily), SOC 2, deployment pipeline and tooling to maintain world-class reliability and security.
We are a product-oriented, distributed engineering team seeking exceptional engineers to drive our mission forward.
About the role
Thousands of people use Canopy, and that number is increasing every day. The infrastructure we've built is embedded into websites and applications that enable consumers to securely and quickly connect their online insurance accounts. We build trust with our customers (and consumers) by keeping our services fast, available, and secure, and increasing the reliability of our integrations. As the first Infrastructure Engineer at an early-stage startup, the work that you do will have a massive impact on our continued ability to do so.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and scale the foundations for production engineering, developer operations, and deployment. You will manage our cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform) and implement best practices on managing cloud services. You will work closely with other engineers to recognize and fix issues in production. You must also be comfortable working across our entire stack to ensure the success of Canopy Connect and our customers.
What you'll do
  • Architect, implement and enforce best practices for scaling our cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code as well as automation and tooling.
  • Own the complete CI/CD lifecycle.
  • Own and improve the quality of our infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call (we run a critical, 24x7x365 service)
  • Debug complex production issues across the entire stack.
  • Build monitoring and alerting tooling so we can maintain world-class availability.
  • Work with the team to craft sustainable and scalable engineering practices.
About you
  • You have a passion for infrastructure engineering and devops. You love running 24x7x365, mission-critical services.
  • You have experience in managing production environments and databases, and you have scaled critical services in production.
  • You're a clear, concise communicator, fluent in written and spoken English.
