Job description

Position Title: AV Programmer & Systems Designer

Location: Local Travel Only (Metro Detroit Area)

Schedule: Standard Daytime Hours

Company: Atlas Tech

Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time

Who We’re Looking For

Atlas Tech is searching for a driven and detail-obsessed AV professional who can hit the ground running. You know your way around Crestron and Lutron systems, and you thrive on getting control systems to perform precisely. This role blends hands-on programming, system design, and project execution - ideal for someone ready to take ownership of AV delivery and help shape Atlas Tech’s standards.

If you’re looking for a place to build something solid, without red tape or fluff, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Program and commission Crestron, Lutron, and similar AV control systems for commercial spaces
  • Design AV system layouts and device specifications in partnership with sales and operations
  • Ensure AV programming aligns with scope, drawings, and customer needs
  • Support field teams with setup, troubleshooting, and escalation handling
  • Document your work clearly and contribute to growing our internal AV standards library

What You Bring

  • Solid experience programming and troubleshooting Crestron control systems
  • Comfort working with AV drawings, schematics, and signal flow
  • Ability to translate customer needs into functioning control logic
  • Hands-on knowledge of audio, video, switching, and lighting integration
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Certifications Required

  • Crestron Core Certification (or equivalent hands-on programming experience)

Certifications Preferred

  • Crestron DM or NVX, Lutron, CTS, or related manufacturer training

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing or modifying SIMPL/VTPro/HTML5 code
  • Familiarity with AV over IP, networking, or field configuration tools
  • Ability to assist with quoting, BOM creation, or customer-facing technical design

This Role Isn’t for You If

You shy away from taking ownership. You don’t document your work. You want someone else to figure out the client’s needs or system intent. This role requires both technical precision and customer-minded thinking.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Direct input on how we build Atlas Tech’s AV practice
  • A lean, fast-moving environment without red tape
  • Projects that range from scrappy to sophisticated—you’ll see the full stack
  • Leadership that respects technical talent and execution excellence
