Job description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Music Teacher is responsible for providing highquality music instruction in a faithcentered Catholic school environment. This role supports student creativity, musical development, and appreciation of music while integrating Catholic values into instruction and school life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide music instruction to students in Preschool through designated grade levels
  • Teach music fundamentals including rhythm, melody, movement, vocal technique, and music literacy
  • Create engaging, ageappropriate lessons that encourage participation and confidence
  • Prepare students for school performances such as concerts, assemblies, and seasonal programs
  • Support and assist with music for school liturgies, Masses, and prayer services
  • Foster a structured, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Collaborate with school administration and teachers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students and families regarding expectations and activities
  • Support the mission and values of Catholic education through positive role modeling

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or related field preferred
  • Experience teaching music to children preferred
