Job description

St. John the Baptist School

670 Yonkers Avenue

Yonkers, NY 10704

St. John the Baptist School

St. John the Baptist School of Yonkers, NY, is a community of faith, learning and service where all members experience the love of God and support each other to grow in virtue: spiritually, intellectually, and socially so that we can witness the light of Jesus Christ.

St. John the Baptist School is founded on the Catholic faith that God created every person to be loved and to love. The triune God showed us his love by becoming man in the person of Jesus Christ, and it is our aspiration that our students experience that love and learn to show it to themselves and others.

God created human beings with a material body and immaterial mind, and the purpose of education is to develop our students' capacity for rational thought so that they are better able to perceive and advocate for the truth in today's world. Learning is a venture of hope which affirms that each person has the capacity for growth and can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in this life.

Service is a fundamental obligation of the Christian life, and we seek to help our students become servant-leaders in the model of Jesus. Our school organizes donations and fundraisers for charitable organizations and also provides opportunities for students to serve the community outside the classroom.
