Job description

Patient Service Manager - Respiratory Care

Education Required: Bachelorโ€™s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related health/business field. Equivalent combination of education and progressive clinical or operations leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred: Masterโ€™s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.

Experience Required: 3-5 years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a hospital or ambulatory clinical services department, including budget oversight, staff scheduling, and performance management. Preferred: Experience managing a respiratory care, pulmonary, or critical care service line. Experience preparing a department for Joint Commission or CMS survey.

Physical: This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information. Normal hospital environment. Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Frequent sitting and walking. May lift up to 30 lbs, carry up to 30 lbs, push/pull up to 75 lbs.

Job Summary: The Patient Service Manager - Respiratory Care provides operational and clinical leadership for Respiratory Care Services at St. Bernards Medical Center. This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the daily operations of the department to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care services. The Patient Service Manager oversees departmental staffing, scheduling, budgeting, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, employee performance, and operational efficiency while partnering with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support exceptional patient outcomes. The incumbent promotes a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and service excellence while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA regulations, state licensure requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies. This position exercises independent judgment in operational decision-making, resource allocation, personnel management, and departmental planning while supporting the strategic objectives of St. Bernards Healthcare.
