The Line Cook performs a variety of restaurant/kitchen related tasks including food preparation, product stocking and rotation, food prep, and basic cleaning duties. Works between the Wendover Nugget Hotel & Casino and Red Garter Hotel & Casino



Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for stocking supplies, products and utensils throughout the kitchen and general cleaning of the kitchen and stock areas.
  • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
  • Prepares all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  • Perform related and/or other duties as required.

Requirements

Previous prep or line cook experience preferred.

Knowledge of cooking procedures and kitchen equipment.

Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment.

Maintain safety in a high-pace and hot environment.

Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

Ability to prioritize and organize, uses time efficiently.

Actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures, and use equipment and materials properly.

Ability to read and satisfactorily communicate in English with co-workers and management to their understanding.

Stay self-motivated in work environment.

Ability to prepare food according to food handler's guidelines.

 
 

 
 

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position typically works varied shifts, including weekend and holidays. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
