Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of large-scale Aruba wireless networks in a complex enterprise environment. This role requires deep expertise in Aruba WLAN architecture, ClearPass policy services, and internet offload and guest access designs, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and user experience across thousands of endpoints and locations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on and design-oriented, with strong operational maturity and an appreciation for modern NetOps practices. This includes working within Agile delivery models and partnering with automation and platform teams to ensure wireless and NAC architectures align with network-as-code and infrastructure-as-code principles, while operating in a highly regulated enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and support enterprise-grade Aruba wireless LAN solutions across corporate offices, campuses, and remote/branch locations
• Lead wireless architecture and design efforts, including RF design, capacity planning, predictive and post-deployment surveys, and coverage optimization
• Engineer and maintain Aruba ClearPass solutions for authentication, authorization, posture assessment, BYOD, guest access, and device profiling
• Design and support internet offload architectures, including guest Wi-Fi and segmented access models, ensuring secure and scalable traffic separation
• Collaborate closely with security teams on NAC, identity-based access control, and policy enforcement strategies
• Troubleshoot complex wireless issues involving RF interference, roaming behavior, authentication failures, and performance degradation
• Develop and maintain wireless standards, design documentation, and best practices for enterprise deployments
• Partner with automation, platform, and infrastructure teams to support network-as-code and NetOps initiatives, ensuring wireless and NAC designs are automation-ready, repeatable, and policy-driven
• Participate in Agile-based network delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative design reviews for wireless and NAC initiatives
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point and mentor junior engineers
• Partner with vendors and integrators on architecture reviews, feature adoption, and long-term wireless roadmap planning
Required Qualifications
• Expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise wireless networks
• Strong hands-on experience with Aruba wireless platforms, including access points, controllers, and Aruba Central
• Proven expertise with Aruba ClearPass, including 802.1X, BYOD workflows, guest access, device profiling, and TACACS/RADIUS
• Experience designing and supporting internet offload and guest Wi-Fi architectures in large enterprise environments
• Deep understanding of 802.11 standards, RF principles, roaming behavior, and wireless security
• Experience operating wireless networks at enterprise scale (hundreds to thousands of access points and locations)
• Strong troubleshooting skills spanning wireless, switching, routing, and authentication systems
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working within Agile or iterative delivery models for enterprise network initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
• Aruba certifications (ACMP, ACMX, or equivalent)
• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Network as Code / Infrastructure as Code concepts as applied to enterprise networking (e.g., automation-friendly design, configuration standardization, API-driven platforms)
• Exposure to Agile networking or NetOps operating models, including collaboration with automation and platform engineering teams
• Familiarity with wireless assurance and observability tools
• Experience supporting large branch, campus, or retail wireless deployments
• Scripting or automation exposure (e.g., Python, REST APIs) related to network operations
What We Offer
• Opportunity to own and influence enterprise wireless architecture at scale
• Collaboration with senior network, security, and infrastructure engineers
• Exposure to complex, real-world wireless challenges beyond "plug-and-play" environments
• A role that balances hands-on engineering with forward-looking network design and operational maturity
PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. We encourage candidates to connect with their recruiter and hiring manager to understand workplace expectations and ensure the role aligns with their goals.
