Job description

We have an opening for a Sr. Technology Project Manager role here is Columbus, OH. This opportunity is a Direct Hire role with a fast-growing mortgage organization.

The Senior Technical Project Manager will be leading project initiatives for our mortgage operations team. This position will report into the product team and will be the owner for technical projects that drive efficiencies within the loan origination process. 


Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand inefficiencies within the loan origination process and rapidly implement technical solutions.
  • Act as the product team subject matter expert for the internal loan origination process.
  • Lead project prioritization with operations stakeholders and act as the bridge between our internal mortgage operations stakeholders, vendors, and our engineering team. 
  • Research and evaluate technology options and help advise, in collaboration with engineering and stakeholders, whether to leverage 3rd party technology or build in-house.
  • Ensure proper project planning occurs, including initial scoping, defining KPIs, collecting requirements, estimating milestones, writing development tickets, and managing development sprints. 
  • Work with engineers to groom requirements, estimate timelines, and test solutions.
  • Communicate pro-actively with all stakeholders to provide project status, identify problems, create solutions, and anticipate future projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and meet stakeholders' expectation. 
  • Provide seamless hand-off of vendor relationships and project documentation to the operations team during project completion. 
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience that demonstrates experience with technical project management.
  • 7 years of technical project management or product management experience.
  • Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working with agile development team.
  • Familiarity with the mortgage industry and Encompass loan origination system a plus.
